Question: What is a Degree (Angle Of Measure) ?

Answer:

A degree is the common unit used for giving the size of an angle. One complete turn is equivalent to 360°. So a right angle, which is quarter of a turn is 90°.

The degree is based on the system originally devised by the ancient Mesopotamians who divided a circle into 360 parts. Bearings are measured in degrees.

Temperature is also given in units called degrees but this has no relation with angle measure.
